AFC is a program funded through Senior Care Options (SCO) plans that allows adults who need daily assistance to live with caregivers in a safe home environment. Caregivers receive a tax-free stipend twice a month, while every client is supported by a Registered Nurse and Case Manager.

Adult Foster Care Requirements
To be eligible to serve as an Adult Foster Care caregiver in Massachusetts, an individual must meet the following qualifications
Live in Massachusetts
Be at least 18 years old.
Reside in the same private home as the Adult Foster Care member
Be capable of providing 24-hour supervision and assistance, either personally or with approved backup support
Be physically and mentally able to meet the care needs of the member
Must be at least 16 years of age
Needs 24-hour cueing, assistance, or supervision of ONE or more Activities of Daily Living
Must have Senior Care Options
Must live in a safe home environment
