Adult Foster Care Benefits

Compassionate Care for Adults and Disabled Individuals

Adult Foster Care benefits include supportive caregiving for families

As our loved ones age or experience disabling conditions, Adult Foster Care benefits can provide specialized care and daily assistance in a supportive home environment. This program is designed to help caregivers and care recipients thrive while ensuring the highest quality of care.

What Are Adult Foster Care Benefits?

Adult Foster Care (AFC) is a program tailored for adults or disabled individuals who cannot safely live alone due to their health conditions. Instead of moving to a long-term care facility, eligible individuals can live with caregivers in a nurturing home environment. Caregivers receive financial support in the form of a tax-free stipend provided twice monthly through the administering agency.

AFC offers two levels of care to accommodate varying needs:

  • Level 1: For individuals requiring supervision or cueing for at least one Activity of Daily Living (ADL), such as bathing or dressing.
  • Level 2: For individuals needing hands-on assistance with three ADLs or two ADLs combined with a behavioral need.
