Advocacy
At Vitra Health, we believe families who rely on Adult Foster Care deserve thoughtful, informed decisions.
That is why we are proud to support Amendment #815. This amendment would create an Adult Foster Care Working Group to review the program before cuts are made. It does not require new funding. Instead, it gives the state time to look closely at eligibility, services, oversight, workforce, and cost trends before making major decisions.
Why Amendment #815 Matters
Adult Foster Care, or AFC, helps older adults and people with disabilities stay safely at home with a live-in caregiver. In Massachusetts, the program serves a large and growing population, and the majority of those enrolled are seniors. AFC also helps reduce costs by providing care at home instead of in more expensive settings.

of AFC enrollees are 65 or older
Amendment #815 is supported by organizations working to protect community-based care across Massachusetts.
