Vitra Health Helps Feed 100 Families this Thanksgiving
This Thanksgiving season, Vitra Health had the honor of supporting local families by donating one hundred complete holiday feasts to members of the community. The effort came together through a meaningful partnership with St. Thomas Aquinas located at 97 South St. in Jamaica Plain, where parishioners represent a wide and vibrant mix of backgrounds and cultures.
The goal was simple: offer families everything needed to enjoy a full Thanksgiving meal at home. Each feast provided a traditional holiday spread with a turkey, classic sides, dessert, and pantry staples. With one hundred full meal kits packed and ready, the event promised a moment of comfort for many households.
Both Father Carlos and Father Andrea from the parish expressed heartfelt gratitude for the contribution to their community.
Much of the success can be credited to the incredible team at Stop & Shop in Dedham. Their staff worked closely with us to coordinate the large order and made sure every detail was handled with care. A special thank you goes to Richard, the non-perishable manager, whose support helped the process run smoothly from start to finish.
On the day of the drive, our staff made several runs back and forth to the store. Cars were filled to the brim with food that would soon make its way into the hands of waiting families. As soon as Mass ended on Sunday morning, the church parking lot filled quickly.
Our team members greeted families, loaded bags into cars, and assisted older adults with their packages. They also spent time sharing caregiving resources and connecting with individuals who might benefit from additional support. By the end of the event, one hundred families went home with enough food to share a full Thanksgiving meal. ATogether, we provided over nine hundred servings for families to share this Thanksgiving.
We are deeply thankful for the chance to give back in such a meaningful way. This experience highlighted the strength of community partnerships and the generosity that defines the holiday season. We look forward to continuing this tradition of service in the years to come.
